In Christ we Educate, Encourage and Empower

Description

Longburn Adventist College (LAC) is a Seventh-day Adventist Christian high school and college serving grades 7-13 with boarding facilities near Palmerston North, New Zealand. Boarding schools need volunteers to help in various roles each year, but LAC specifically is in need of assistant deans to help care for and disciple their dorm students. This is a great opportunity to be a mentor and friend.

Responsibilities include assisting in the day-to-day operation of the dormitory, providing an excellent environment for staff and students, supporting and enforcing school policies, helping run the devotional program provided for students, being available to provide pastoral support for boarding students, and much more. You will also take on the role of being like a house parent and will have to oversee academic standing, do regular checks with teachers, attend parent-teacher interviews on behalf of parents/caregivers, maintain contact with parents/caregivers, and address issues as necessary.
