About David Lennox
Current Roles
In July 2025, David Lennox was appointed Professor of Management and Communication, and Dean of the School of Business at his alma mater, Walla Walla University. His duties include oversight of the faculty and degree programs, administering the Colloquium series featuring prominent business and thought leaders, and teaching Business Communications. He enjoys coaching students to present their best selves and best ideas to the world (and to potential employers).
Education
Lennox holds a Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, with majors in Speech Communication and English from Walla Walla University and is a general studies honors program graduate. He has a Master of Arts in English Literature from the Claremont Graduate University and received a Master of Business Administration from the Peter F. Drucker School of Management at Claremont. He studied communication in organizations and is a Candidate (ABD) in the doctoral program in Communication at the University of Washington.
Professional & Academic Journey
From 2018, Lennox served as Director of Undergraduate Studies at Cornell University’s Charles H. Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management . In 2025, Poets and Quants ranked Dyson the #2 undergraduate business program in the nation. At Dyson, Lennox helped develop the Grand Challenges program, a four-year engaged-learning curriculum, and co-taught AEM1101, Design Your Dyson, the comprehensive first year “business for a better world” course. He was honored with the Distinguished Leadership and Service Award at Dyson in 2025. He studied Life Design curricula at the Stanford University Design Lab and has worked as a Training Director for Internap Network Services and consulted widely on communication issues in small and mid-size organizations.
Beyond the Classroom
A British-born Canadian who is married to an American and has lived on three continents, Lennox finds cultural differences continually relevant and fascinating. He and his wife, Lisa Jervey Lennox, have two adult daughters, Sarah and Hannah. He loves great old cars and classic theater. He relaxes by working in his backyard—pausing to take in beautiful Walla Walla sunsets—and traveling with family.
