Opening doors

Winter Educational Complex pool reopening to alumni and the community

On June 27, the Winter Educational Complex recreational facilities will reopen to alumni and swim pass holders. Patrons will need to have valid alumni cards, available through the records office, or a community swim pass, available through the Health and Physical Education office. Access to the building will be through card access only. Current faculty, staff, and students will continue to have normal access.

Rodd Strobel, dean of the health and physical education department, said, “Aside from COVID-19 considerations, there were challenges with the access control system that needed to be resolved in order to resume safe operations. We are on track to open on the 27th and are excited to welcome back our patrons after a much too long absence.”

During the summer, the WWU pool is open from June 12 to August 5. Water aerobics and swim lessons are not available this summer. Information about facility schedules and passes can be found at
