Visit Stipend Program for Pastors

Help a student take an important step in choosing a college—making a campus visit.

When you arrange a visit to Walla Walla University for qualifying students from your church, you will:

  • Provide the encouragement they need to explore their options.
  • Support the ministry of Adventist higher education.
  • Receive a stipend to boost your work (or for any other purpose).

Choose from two types of visits:

  1. Individual/group visit. Your student(s) will enjoy a visit created around their goals and interests. Their visit day will include a campus tour; meetings with advisors, professors, and financial aid experts; and even a chance to attend classes.
  2. U-Days visit. Your student(s) will enjoy three days of engaging college exploration activities, joined by other students from near and far.

Campus visit stipend

Covered expenses for the visit(s) include:

  • Food and lodging for up to three nights for the pastor, and also for the student (and their immediate family members). All fuel expenses (must provide receipts).
  • Plus, you will receive a stipend:
    • $100 if you bring one or more qualifying students for an individual/group campus visit (maximum $300 per year).
    • $300 if you bring three or more qualifying students for a WWU U-days event (maximum $600 per year).

Qualifying students

Qualifying students for the Guide With Purpose visit program include:

  • High school or homeschool juniors or seniors who do not attend an Adventist academy.
  • Students who attend another college or university.

Other details

  • Each qualifying student may make two campus visits to WWU—an individual campus visit and a U-Days visit.
  • Student visitors must attend all scheduled visit appointments and activities to receive their food and lodging reimbursement.
  • While at WWU, you can enjoy activities and resources tailored especially for busy pastors.

How to schedule

  • You must register for the individual/group campus visit at least two weeks prior to your visit arrival date. Visit blockout dates may apply.
  • Make sure you know the U-Days registration deadlines, find them at wallawalla.edu/udays.
