Walla Walla University distributes a number of awards to students each spring in recognition of outstanding work. Nominations for awards are made by departments and supervisors and are for the following school year.

Additional Scholarships | Amounts vary | Over $1 million in scholarships awarded annually

Additional scholarships for continuing students are offered through the generosity of alumni and friends of Walla Walla University. Awards Celebration is an annual event where over 500 scholarships are awarded to continuing students.

Congratulations to the Awards Celebration 2026 student recipients!

What is it?

Alumni and friends of WWU have provided additional scholarships for WWU students through endowments and generous annual gifts.

Learn the stories behind these endowed and annual scholarships.

When may I apply?

The award application for the 2027-2028 school year will open in February 2027. Students will be notified via email and the daily announcements when the application is live.

Are the scholarships need-based or merit-based?

There are many scholarships awarded based on merit, community engagement, academic programs, work, and more. However, almost half of all scholarships awarded do have a need component.

To be evaluated for financial need, students can complete one of the following:

  • FAFSA - for US citizens and eligible non-citizens
  • WASFA - for WA State residents who cannot complete the FAFSA
  • CSS Profile - for international students and others who cannot complete a FAFSA or WASFA

If you have any questions about applying for need-based student aid, our Student Financial Services Team is here to help.
