Aviation Technology — Associate of Science

Upon successful completion of the A.S. in Aviation Technology, graduates will be able to:

1. Apply foundational aeronautical knowledge to safely plan and conduct flight operations in accordance with FAA regulations and accepted aviation practices.

2. Demonstrate proficiency in aircraft operation appropriate to the ratings and certificates earned through the program, using sound aeronautical decision-making and risk management.

3. Interpret and apply aviation weather, navigation, aircraft systems, and performance data to support safe and effective flight operations.

4. Communicate effectively using standard aviation terminology and professional communication practices in flight and ground operations.

5. Demonstrate professionalism, ethical responsibility, and a commitment to safety consistent with the responsibilities of an entry-level professional pilot.

Upon successful completion of the B.S. in Aviation Technology, graduates will be able to:

1. Integrate advanced aeronautical knowledge to evaluate and manage complex flight operations using sound judgment, risk management, and evidence-based decision making.

2. Demonstrate professional competence in advanced flight operations, including leadership, crew coordination, and instructional or commercial aviation responsibilities.

3. Analyze aviation safety, regulatory, operational, and human factors issues and recommend appropriate solutions to enhance aviation safety and operational effectiveness.

4. Apply sound principles of communication to function effectively within professional aviation environments, organizations, and multidisciplinary teams.

5. Exhibit ethical decision-making, lifelong learning, and Christian professional values in service to the aviation profession and society.
