Visual arts announce new gallery exhibit and upcoming reception and artist talk

Walla Walla University’s Clyde and Mary Harris Gallery now presents “Liquid Memory: A Collaboration With Water,” an exhibition by Margot Stroop, a Yakima-based artist and WWU alumna. The gallery is available for viewing through April 17 and will be accompanied by a reception and artist talk on April 9, from 6–8 p.m. Admission to both is free and open to the public.

According to the exhibition statement, “Stroop’s work explores the delicate balance between natural systems, biological fragility, and social commentary. Working primarily on paper, she combines traditional and experimental printmaking, marbling, papercutting, and installation techniques to evoke the dynamic behavior of elemental forces—especially water.”

The exhibition statement continues, “This exhibition brings together a curated selection of works spanning the last two decades. Unified in both concept and form, the pieces invite viewers into a visual dialogue with water and its transformative presence, memory, and movement.”

The Clyde and Mary Harris Gallery is located at 204 S. College Ave., College Place. Gallery hours include: Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m.–12 p.m. and 1–5 p.m.; as well as Friday from 9 a.m.–12 p.m.
