Guest organ concert

Curt Sather to perform organ pieces by Bach and Sowerby

Curt Sather will present organ chorales by Johann Sebastian Bach and the symphony in G Major by Leo Sowerby for his guest recital in the University Church on Saturday, March 2, at 5 p.m.

Sather received his degree in organ performance from Arizona State University and his doctorate from Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York. His music has led him across the world from the United States through Europe, New Zealand, and Australia. He worked as an organist and choirmaster for the Saint Barnabas Episcopal Church in Arizona before becoming the organist at the San Miniato al Monte (St. Minias on the Mountain) basilica in Florence, Italy. Since returning to the United States he has worked as a church musician, music instructor, and organ technician in Wisconsin, Arizona, California, and Washington. He has also served on the board of the American Guild of Organists.

Admission to the recital is free. The University Church is located at 212 S.W. Fourth St. College Place, Wash.
