The Walla Walla University drama program will perform “A Wrinkle in Time” at the Black Box Theater in the Canaday Technology Center on May 11, 16, and 18, at 8 p.m., and on May 12 and 19 at 2 p.m.

The play will be different from typical plays in that it will be performed in the round—the actors will tell the story as they move around the audience, which will be seated in the middle of the stage. This allows for a unique drama style that helps the audience feel as if they are in the midst of the story. The performance will feature a few surprise special effects as well. 

Based on Madeleine L’Engle’s Newbery Award winning book this “A Wrinkle in Time” adaption by Tracy Young follows the journey of a girl named Meg Murry as she travels through the dimensions of space and time with her younger brother, a friend, and three mysterious guides. 

“The story itself is so special. In many ways it is about having courage and allowing love to prevail,” said Meghann Heinrich, drama manager and senior communication major. 

The cast includes WWU students: Claira Eastwood, Dorea Bradley, Peter Thomsen, Nathaniel Pittenger, Rylee Blake, Gina Lincoln, Meghann Heinrich, Chelsea Bond, Jared Sexton, Arien Cabanilla, Abigail Rodgers, Emma Meadowcroft, Kiana Brusett, Joshua McClosky and Bryce Weber.
