Campus Security Authority Responsibilities and Training
Every benefits-eligible employee at Walla Walla University is designated as a Campus Security Authority (CSA) and has mandatory reporting responsibilities under the Clery Act.
Campus Security Authorities play a vital role in the University’s compliance with the Clery Act. As a trusted member of our community, you may be among the first to receive reports of crimes or safety concerns. CSAs help ensure the University is informed of incidents that impact campus safety so that appropriate action can be taken.
To support you in this important role, we provide a comprehensive training video outlining your responsibilities under the Clery Act. A link to the training is emailed annually to all faculty and staff and is also available upon request at student.life@wallawalla.edu.
The training reviews all reportable incidents, including those added under the 2013 Violence Against Women Act amendments and the 2024 Stop Campus Hazing Act amendments to the Clery Act. It also provides guidance on how to respond appropriately when receiving a report.
We encourage you to complete this training and remain informed about the essential role you play in promoting campus safety and compliance.
