Degree Application Submission Process

Before submitting your application to graduate, please be sure you have completed the following steps:

  • Meet with your academic adviser to discuss your degree completion plan.
  • Register for all classes needed to complete your degree requirements.  Courses that you cannot register for (e.g. internships, specialized study, summer classes not yet scheduled, transfer courses) should be noted as courses to be added when available/approved in step 9 of the 12-click application process outlined below.
  • Verify you have a minimum of 192 credits (200 credits for engineering majors).
  • Verify you have a minimum of 60 upper-division credits.
  • Submit your application three quarters in advance of your expected graduation term.
  • If you are planning to graduate at the end of fall term, submit your application early in the spring quarter prior to your anticipated graduation term.

12 Click Process:

  1. Login to myWWU
     
  2. Select “PeopleSoft Student Center Classic” under "Student Apps"
     
  3. Select "My Academics” on the left side of the screen
     
  4. Click the “Apply for Graduation” option
    Verify your degree, major, and/or minor
     
  5. Click “Apply for Graduation” if the information is correct.
    If it is not correct, contact Academic Advisement for assistance.
     
  6. Select the term you plan to graduate from the drop-down menu. Be sure to select the term in which you will complete your requirements–not the term you intend to march.
     
  7. Click “Continue”
     
  8. Click the check box to acknowledge you understand your name will be included in the graduation program.
    Edit the name fields if you would like your name to appear differently on your diploma and in the graduation program. If you enter an initial in place of your middle name, please put a period after it (e.g., Wally W. Wolf)
     
  9. Click “Continue”
    Review your classes listed for the most current 3–4 terms of enrollment prior to graduation. (Please note: You do not need to attach your class schedule to your application.)

    Noteadjustments that are not included in the registration list (e.g. I’m approved to take a 4-credit MATH 266 through BYU winter 2022, I’m planning to do my internship spring 2022, I’m planning to take a 3-credit upper division religion class summer 2022).

    Planning to take a course from another college? If you have not already done so, complete the Transfer Course Approval Request to ensure your course will transfer the way you anticipate.
     
  10. Click “Continue”
     
  11. Click the box at the end of the application indicating you have read and agree with the terms presented.
     
  12. Click “Continue”

You have successfully applied to graduate.
Your request will be available for review by your department chair/dean in approximately 24 hours. Once approved by your chair/dean for each major and/or minor listed, your request will be forwarded to Academic Records for final approval. Because of the high number of requests being processed, please allow 8–10 weeks for a response. All communication relating to this request will be sent through your WWU email including your final approval notification. Please also watch your myWWU checklist for outstanding items you will need to complete to be eligible to march in commencement and receive your degree.
