Applying to the M.S.W. program at Walla Walla University is designed to be straightforward—whether you're planning to study online or in person. Our admissions team will guide you every step of the way as you prepare to join a community committed to clinical excellence and compassionate service. There’s no need to navigate confusing requirements on your own—we’re here to help you succeed.
We offer two tracks—Regular Standing and Advanced Standing—available in both online and face-to-face formats. Each track has a few distinct criteria, but most application steps are shared.
Common Admissions Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited university
- Minimum GPA qualifications as outlined below
- Completed online application with application fee and materils including:
- Statement of purpose and social issue analysis
- Three professional and/or academic references
- Official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended
- Background check (initiated by WWU after application submission)
- Technology Assessment for online sutudents to gauge access and preparedness
Track-Specific Requirements
- Regular Standing
- Minimum cumulative undergrad GPA of 2.75 (3.0 for online program)
- Minimum cumulative undergrad GPA of 2.75 (3.0 for online program)
- Advanced Standing
- B.S.W. from a CSWE-accredited program earned within last five years
- Minimum cumulative undergrad GPA of 3.0 (3.25 for online program)
Admissions deadlines
- March 31
WSAC Behavioral Health Conditional Scholarship application deadline. Must be admitted or have file completed by this date and submit the scholarship application.
- May 1
Early admissions deadline – all admissions documents must be submitted to guarantee a spot.

- Request your references and transcprits
Ask three professional and/or academic contacts to submit a reference and provide their contact information in the application portal. Request that your official transcripts from your undergraduate institution be sent to grad.studies@wallawalla.edu or in their original sealed envelope to this address:
