Health and Physical Education

The department offers a a major in Health Science, Exercise Science, and Physical Education, as well as three pre-professional programs: Pre-Dental Hygiene, Pre-Nutrition and Dietetics, and Pre-Physical Therapy. Health Science (Bachelor of Science)

The major in health science prepares students to pursue graduate studies and careers in research, medicine, dentistry, environmental health, nutrition, and other disciplines in the health sciences.

Sports Management and Coaching (Bachelor of Science)

The major in sports management and coaching prepares graduates to pursue a variety of careers including teaching physical education, coaching athletic teams, and personal training. The sports management and coaching major also prepares graduates to pursue advanced degrees in areas including exercise physiology, biomechanics or motor learning.

Exercise Science (Bachelor of Science)

The major in exercise science prepares students to pursue graduate studies and careers in physical therapy, occupational therapy, and other allied health professions. The exercise science major also prepares graduates to pursue advanced degrees in areas including exercise physiology, biomechanics or motor learning.

Pre-Dental Hygiene (Associate of Science)

This degree will prepare the student for admission to the Bachelor of Science degree program in Dental Hygiene at Loma Linda University and may also apply to other dental hygiene programs. A cumulative grade point average of 3.00 or more is required before entering BS professional training.

Pre-Nutrition and Dietetics (Associate of Science)

This degree will prepare the student for admission to Nutrition and Dietetics at Loma Linda University and may also apply to other professional programs. A cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or more is required before entering BS professional training.

This degree will prepare the student for admission to the Doctor of Physical Therapy degree program at Andrews University and may also apply to other professional programs.
