Health and Physical Education

The department offers a a major in Health Science, Health Promotion, and Physical Education, as well as three pre-professional programs: Pre-Dental Hygiene, Pre-Nutrition and Dietetics, and Pre-Physical Therapy. Health Promotion (Bachelor of Science)

The majors in Health Promotion and Health Science will help prepare students to meet the increasing demands for health professionals trained in promoting wellness. The major in Health Promotion is designed for students desiring to pursue graduate work and careers in the areas of health education, community health, school health, health promotion, employee wellness, and other areas of public health.

Health Science (Bachelor of Science)

The majors in Health Promotion and Health Science will help prepare students to meet the increasing demands for health professionals trained in promoting wellness. The major in Health Science provides a program for students wishing to pursue graduate studies and careers in research, medicine, dentistry, environmental health, nutrition, and other disciplines in the health sciences.

Physical Education (Bachelor of Science)

The programs in physical education help prepare professionals who will promote activities that stimulate habits of regular exercise and develop skills and interests for participation throughout life. The curriculum includes two concentrations: Preparation for Teaching and Fitness Management.

Pre-professional programs

Pre-Dental Hygiene (Associate of Science)

This degree will prepare the student for admission to the Bachelor of Science degree program in Dental Hygiene at Loma Linda University and may also apply to other dental hygiene programs. A cumulative grade point average of 3.00 or more is required before entering BS professional training.

Pre-Nutrition and Dietetics (Associate of Science)

This degree will prepare the student for admission to Nutrition and Dietetics at Loma Linda University and may also apply to other professional programs. A cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or more is required before entering BS professional training.
