Department of Health and Physical Education

College Experience
What will your college experience look like as a Health and Physical Education major?
Hands-on skills: As a health and physical education major, you will take classes in our core curriculum combined with classes from other fields of study for well-rounded preparation. You’ll develop hands-on skills in a range of areas within the health and exercise science domains. Internships are available to engage with real-world work.
Real time learning: Our colloquium series will allow you to learn from specialists in a wide variety of professions, and interact and network with classmates and department faculty.
Staying active: Employment and recreation opportunities in the fitness center, climbing wall, pool, and gymnasium provide you with the chance to explore ways to stay active during college.

What can your career path as a Health and Physical Education major look like?
Knowledge of human health and wellness is critical in many professional areas and careers. Our graduates have gone on to become doctors, dentists, physical therapists, nutritionists, dental hygienists, physical education teachers, school principles, coaches, athletic directors, personal trainers, and more. By earning a degree in health and physical education, you will be prepared to step into the workforce or continue studying areas of health and physical education in graduate programs.
