WWU business program reaccredited by ACBSP for maximum period

The Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) has reaffirmed accreditation of the business program at Walla Walla University.

“We are pleased to have our business administration degrees reaccredited for the maximum period of 10 years,” said Bruce Toews, interim dean of the School of Business. “A lot of work went into the self-study, which was nearly 1,000 pages long. In October, we hosted three evaluators who spent several days reviewing our program. Because of this accreditation, students can have confidence that our program meets rigorous quality standards and that our degrees are widely recognized.”

All business students at WWU complete internships and participate in project-based learning as part of the curriculum. The school has experienced 30 percent growth in enrollment during the last 10 years. In December, the business students, faculty, and staff moved into a newly renovated building. The year-long renovation project added more than 3,000 square feet to Bowers Hall and reorganized existing classroom and office spaces. The transformed facility include an innovation classroom and laboratory, technologies that enhance digital learning, efficient group study areas, and multifunctional meeting spaces.

Established in 1988, ACBSP has more than 1,100 member institutions in more than 50 countries and is a leading accrediting body in mission-based standards focused on teaching excellence. In addition, ACBSP is the only organization offering business accreditation for all degree levels, including associate, baccalaureate, master, and doctoral degree programs.
