Alex Bryan, senior pastor of the Walla Walla University Church, held a sermon-writing seminar in Walla Walla for the pastors of the Upper Columbia Conference, October 12 and 13. There were 11 attendants who participated.
The seminar was based on how to form sermons, from choosing biblical texts to presenting the sermon. The pastors spent half of each day thinking about the call and art of preaching while learning and sharing with each other.
Bryan said the seminar was a way to encourage preachers as they create and deliver weekly sermons. “I believe what happens at the pulpit is of enormous importance for the health of the church. And a healthy church is a great gift to the world,” said Bryan.
