Positive Life Radio expands to reach Portland listeners

##

Walla Walla University-based Christian music network Positive Life Radio has significantly expanded its coverage with the purchase of a station to serve the Portland, Oregon area. This is the first time the network has expanded coverage since 1997.

"Serving the Portland area has been our dream for over 20 years," said general manager Chris Gilbreth. "We're looking forward to serving new listeners in the area and helping the local churches have a voice in the wider community.”

With the new signal, Positive Life Radio has a new potential audience of over 2 million—about four times as many potential listeners as they had before. Two synchronized stations will serve the Portland area on KPLP 104.5: one based in the west hills of Portland that signed on July 7th, and another near Hood River that will sign on later this summer.

In addition to the Portland signals, Positive Life radio has expanded into Astoria, Oregon, and Long Beach, Washington, areas on KCPL 90.5 in conjunction with its partner organization, Growing Christian Foundation.

Since its humble beginning in 1963 in the Walla Walla Valley, Positive Life Radio has expanded to a total of 5 full-power stations and 13 translators bringing messages of hope to a potential weekly audience of over 2.5 million people.
