PRISM concert

Sacred concert to feature a variety of musical ensembles

The Walla Walla University Department of Music will present its annual PRISM concert in the University Church on Friday, April 29, at 8 p.m.

The nontraditional concert of sacred music will feature all studios and ensembles within the Department of Music. Performances will occur on stage and throughout the church. The unique, fast-paced style of PRISM has made it a favorite on campus and in the Walla Walla community.

“Listeners receive a multifaceted view of the music department through the prism of this concert,” says Kraig Scott, professor of music. “Just as a prism refracts light into different colors, we usually divide a single piece into multiple sections, which we hear at different times during the concert. This year we have tried something new in this regard—we have not one, or even two, but three pieces featured in this way.”

The Walla Walla University Church is located at 212 S.W. Fourth Street in College Place. The concert is free and open to the public. Donations will be accepted. Due to the noncentric nature of the concert, doors will be closed promptly at 8 p.m.
