New executive pastor

Alareece Collie joins University Church pastoral staff

Walla Walla University welcomes Alareece Collie, new executive pastor for the University Church. Collie grew up in South Andros, Bahamas. She has a bachelor of arts degree in economics and Spanish, and a master of divinity degree from Andrews University Theological Seminary. Prior to entering full-time ministry, she worked in international banking.

“As an executive pastor," says Collie, "my role is on the business side of the church and driven by the mission of the church.”

Collie is an avid reader and is also passionate about traveling and experiencing new cultures. “One of the most fun places I’ve traveled to within the last two years is Turkey, but I love the differences in each place so I’m not sure I can say I have a favorite,” says Collie.

Collie has experienced God in many aspects of her life. “God has been teaching me about total abandonment and about being completely open to how He’s leading or guiding. He has been working hard to teach me that, which was deepened my relationship with Him.”

“I’m happy to be here,” says Collie, “I feel like God is up to something, and I’m excited be a part of it!"
