Pedrito Maynard-Reid, professor of biblical studies and missiology and assistant to the president for diversity, was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Public Citizen Award by the National Association of Social Workers, Washington chapter in March.

“Pedrito has been training, teaching, and organizing for greater diversity and inclusion in Walla Walla, nationally, and internationally since the 1970s,” says Emily Tillotson, assistant professor of social work and sociology. “His 40 years of dedication and service to the goals of social justice and community organizing make him an honorary member of the social work profession.”
