John McVay, president of Walla Walla University, recently authored the Adult Sabbath School Bible Study Guides for the third quarter of 2023. To supplement and promote the use of the study guides on Ephesians, McVay will be leading a variety of online sessions, recording podcasts, and teaching lessons for Sabbath School classes, the School of Theology, and camp meetings.
Two main online venues are available for those wishing to listen to McVay discuss the book of Ephesians. The Good Word Podcast, a weekly discussion by faculty from the Walla Walla University School of Theology, will feature a series of episodes by McVay, Alden Thompson, and Brant Berglin that prompt discussion and offer guidance on the Sabbath School lessons. The weekly 15-minute episodes will be available each week on the Good Word website. McVay also joined host Eric Flickinger of It Is Written to videotape half-hour presentations that dig deeper into each of the fourteen lessons. They will become available each Sabbath of the quarter on the It Is Written Sabbath School website.
In addition, McVay is leading a number of speaking engagements to complement his work on Ephesians. An introduction to the lesson is available via the General Conference Sabbath School app and a recording of a preview of Ephesians offered at Upper Columbia Conference Camp Meeting is available on the Upper Columbia Conference YouTube channel. Livestream access for McVay’s general lesson study at the Oregon Conference Camp Meeting may be found at the Oregon Conference of Seventh-day Adventists website.
McVay will also be teaching numerous Sabbath School classes at the Walla Walla University Church and an upcoming Sabbath School class at Loma Linda University Seventh-day Adventist Church on July 8, 2023. McVay’s teaching will extend globally through virtual presentations in Zimbabwe, Romania, Spain, and many other countries, many by broadcast through HopeTV outlets.
