An evening of sacred music and the spoken word

The Walla Walla University Department of Music will present an Evensong service in the University Church at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 13.

The service will feature organ music performed by Kraig Scott, professor of music, and spoken word by Montgomery Buell, professor of history. This will be the second to last Evensong of the school year, with the final Evensong scheduled for Saturday, June 10, of graduation weekend.

A regular tradition of the WWU music department, Evensong began during the 1962-1963 school year. The worship service takes place at sundown and combines the spoken word with music for a simple yet sacred closing to the Sabbath.

Evensong is always free and open to the public. The University Church is located at 212 S.W. Fourth Street in College Place.
