The Walla Walla University Department of Music will present an Evensong program on Saturday, Dec. 5, at 4 p.m. in the University Church.

The program will include Christmas musical selections by Kraig Scott, professor of music, and his students, and spoken word by Montgomery Buell, associate professor of history.

For more than 50 years, Evensong has been a cherished part of the WWU musical culture. “We present this quiet, sundown worship service about eight or nine times each year,” Scott says. “It’s always timed to coincide with sundown, so the start times vary. The format is simple—music interspersed with readings.”

The University Church is located at 212 SW Fourth St., in College Place. Evensong is free and open to the public.
