WWU Alumni Foundation (formerly Association)
The Alumni Association formed on May 24, 1917. through the years it has had many forms and levels of involvement. Its purpose has been to serve WWU Alumni and support Walla Walla University goals. In 2025 the Association combined with the Alumni Engagement department, leaving the control of alumni endowments to the newly created Foundation and returning the day to day activities to the University department.
The purpose of the Alumni Foundation is to support Walla Walla University in achieving its charitable purposes and goals and to support continued alumni engagement with the University. It does this through supporting the Alumni Council in creating alumni programing, representing the interests of alumni to WWU leadership, which will promote a strong alumni-University relationship. The Foundation also strives to preserve the heritage of the University in the operation of Havstad Alumni Center. The WWU Alumni Foundation office resides in Havstad Alumni Center and operates with volunteers and a part-time manager. The Foundation Board, which meets at least twice a year, governs the Alumni Foundation General Funds and Endowments. These funds are dispersed primarily to fund scholarships, to maintain Havstad Alumni Center, for events that foster alumni relationships, and for projects that facilitate students in their learning journey.
