Portland Counseling Options
If you or someone you know is suicidal and needs help immediately, do not call the Health & Wellness Center, call 911. Find emergency resources.
Students on the Portland campus have several options for engaging in mental health support:
- Synchronous Health* — This online behavioral health organization offers virtual therapy with a therapist who is licensed in Oregon. WWU-Portland students may access up to 10 free sessions a year with a Synchronous therapist.
Sign up here - Lewis & Clark Community Counseling Center*— WWU partners with the CCC in Portland to be able to receive 10 free counseling sessions per year. It is important to note that you are a WWU student when reaching out to the Counseling Center for services.
https://graduate.lclark.edu/clinics/community_counseling/ - Associates for Psychiatric and Mental Health— This resource is an outstanding opportunity for nursing students who wish to have a medical evaluation for mental health support. Therapy and medication can received through trained and licensed professionals who offer both simultaneously. APMH offers a free consultation service for students to explore what is best for their care. Insurance will be billed for APMH services unless the student makes other arrangements with a provider. APMH offers virtual and in-person treatment options.
https://www.apmentalhealth.net/ - Portland students are always welcome to book online through the WWU Counseling page for a virtual consultation with a mental health professional. Students on all WWU Campuses are able to access this resource up to three times a year. This is an opportunity to talk through available resources and options for engaging in mental health support.
*Students who access free counseling via Synchronous Health or the Community Counseling Center may receive up to 10 free sessions total in a year.
