WWU athletes recognized for commitment to academics

During fall quarter, 20 student athletes from Walla Walla University received Cascade Collegiate Conference Academic Awards, presented by U.S. Bank, for outstanding athletic and academic performance. The awards are presented to students of at least sophomore standing with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.

“Congrats to all the honorees! They deserve this recognition after the countless hours they put into both their sport and their academics,” said Logan Adams, associate athletic director of sports information. “A lot of time goes into being a student athlete, so kudos to them for earning Fall 2021 Academic All-Conference honors. Thank you to all the teachers, coaches, and supporters for helping them achieve success.”

“We are proud of our student-athletes for taking their academic success at Walla Walla University seriously.” Paul Starkebaum, director of athletics, said. “We love to see our players compete and succeed, but ultimately, they are here for more than their playing experience.  The best day for any student-athlete at WWU should be the day they receive their degree. Go Wolves!”

WWU's honorees included 10 individuals from men's soccer, six from women's volleyball, three from men's cross country, and one from women's cross country.
