Walla Walla recognized on ‘best college town food’ list

The city of Walla Walla—and a much-loved Walla Walla eatery—has been named by Tasting Table as having the best college town food in the state of Washington. The list, which includes a selected city from each of the 50 United States, mentions Walla Walla University and Whitman College as the two schools representing Walla Walla and Washington state.

Tasting Table provides dining advice, recipes, and worldwide news about the culinary arts. Their top 50 list is formatted in alphabetical order so, if possible, avoid reading the entire article on an empty stomach since Washington is near the end of the list!

So what is that award-winning, much-loved Walla Walla restaurant that captured the attention of Tasting Table? Their selection of the best local college town food in the state of Washington is none other than Walla Walla’s Ice-Burg Drive-In. In describing the location of Ice-Burg, the article says, “Let the neon polar bear sign point you in the direction of the best burgers, fries, and milkshakes around.” The article also quotes Seattle, Washington, native Macklemore, a platinum-selling Grammy Award-winning recording artist, as saying that Ice-Burg’s cheeseburger is “the best burger ever.”
