POSITION SUMMARY

Works with the Campus Chaplain, Assistant Chaplain for Music, Program Coordinator and PR Manager to organize and run the powerpoint and video needs for Vespers, CommUnity, and special worship services (i.e. Week of Worship, The Weekend, etc…). Communicates regularly with PR Manager at Campus Ministries and ASWWU to obtain necessary promotion information, and creates slides as needed. Also rehearses with band members on Friday evening and occasionally on Monday evening for Vespers and occasional CommUnity needs.

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Works with the Campus Chaplain, Assistant Chaplains, and Program Coordinator to prepare to run Powerpoint and Videos for Vespers and CommUnity programs.

  2. Checks email regularly for program and slide information.

  3. Is present weekly for Vespers programs and rehearsal, as well as CommUnity programs and rehearsals. Must be present early enough to begin slideshow 15 minutes prior to each program and at least 15 minutes after the program.

  4. Works with speakers as necessary to run powerpoint or video for speaker presentations.

  5. Is available and present for special worship services including but not limited to Week of Worship and The Weekend.

  6. Finds a replacement on weekends where schedule does not allow Powerpoint Leader to be in attendance.

  7. Provides training for Media Shout and church computer to the Music Chaplain, Program Coordinator, and other people as necessary.

  8. Communicates technology needs and concerns to Campus Chaplain in an appropriate time and manner.

  9. Works with Campus Ministries & Student Missions and the Marketing and Enrollment Services office to stay current on WWU offerings, policies and procedures.

  10. Adheres to WWU’s policies for conduct, daily processes and risk management.

  • Upholds WWU’s code of conduct and standards.

  • Uses WWU’s timekeeping, data collecting and reporting systems consistently and with discretion.

  • Abides by WWU’s risk management and safety policies.

Experience/Skills

  • Strong passion for Christian ministry in a team-oriented environment.

  • Must be comfortable in high-pressure situations

  • Exceptional social/interpersonal skills a must—clear ability to convey information positively and in a timely manner.

  • Strong organizational skills, including ability to maintain communication and manage multiple projects on deadline as directed.

  • Experience or coursework in areas of ministry, recruiting, communication, marketing or public relations.

  • Proficiency with Media Shout, plus Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word and Excel a must.
