WWU musical ensembles to present annual PRISM concert

The annual PRISM concert, showcasing all ensembles from the Walla Walla University Department of Music, will take place Friday, April 26, at 8 p.m. in the University Church.

Kraig Scott, professor of music, says the PRISM concert has been a favorite of WWU music students and the community since the Department of Music presented their first PRISM concert in 2001.

The PRISM concert has a unique format in which the musicians perform from various locations around the church sanctuary. This format contributes an element of surprise throughout the concert.

“Listeners receive a multifaceted view of the music department through the prism of this concert,” said Scott. “Just as a prism refracts light into different colors, we often divide a single piece of music into multiple sections, which we hear at different times during the concert.”

The PRISM concert is free and open to everyone. The University Church is located at 212 S.W. Fourth St., College Place, Wash.
