Easter reflection

Kraig Scott and Rodd Strobel to present music and spoken word for Evensong

The Walla Walla University Department of Music will host an Evensong service on Saturday, April 27, at 7 p.m. in the University Church, 212 SW Fourth Street in College Place.

Evensong is a program that weaves both music and spoken word together to bring an atmosphere of worship and rest to listeners contemplating the sacred blessing of Sabbath. The music, composed by various artists such as Felix Mendelssohn, Johann Sebastian Bach, Charles-Marie Widor, and more, will be performed by Kraig Scott, professor of music. Scott will also play a rendition of the hymn “God Be with You” that he arranged himself. Spoken word will be presented by Rodd Strobel, assistant professor of physical education.

In honor of Easter, the theme for this Evensong will be a reflection on the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Evensong is free and open to the public.
