Student Learning Outcomes

Mission Statement: We endeavor to stimulate critical thinking and creative expression, enhance language and cultural sensitivity, and help students connect educational, career, and life goals. Students will be prepared to enter careers or pursue graduate studies that will use their talents to understand, speak, read, write, and communicate through a variety of media, becoming effective and articulate Christian communicators. 

Student Learning Outcomes: Students graduating from Walla Walla University with a degree in communication will be able to: 

  1. Produce effective messages appropriate to the audience, purpose, and context. 
  2. Demonstrate knowledge of communication concepts and principles 
  3. Apply ethical communication principles and practices to embrace a diverse range of individuals, communities, and viewpoints. 
  4. Create effective communication products (written, visual, and spoken) to address communication objectives across multiple media platforms. 
  5. Expand opportunities for research and graduate education that place faculty and students at the cutting edge of communication scholarship.
