Dr. Prakash Ramoutar, vice president for financial administration at Walla Walla University, will transition to a senior administrative role at AdventHealth University, effective January 19, 2026. Ramoutar has served as vice president at WWU since 2022.
“Prakash Ramoutar has gifted Walla Walla University with business innovation and strong entrepreneurship,” says Alex Bryan, president. “He guided us during an important transitional period with energy and wisdom. The institution will benefit for years to come because of his contributions.”
In his role at WWU, Ramoutar navigated post-pandemic financial challenges to achieve balanced budget; secured $5.2 million in employee retention funds and a $2 million grant to meet Washington state’s clean building performance standards; helped launch WWU’s artificial intelligence initiatives; and helped to move the university’s $22 million Student Life and Ministry Center project into its current construction phase. He supervised teams in financial services, facility services, human resources, information technology, The Express, Positive Life Radio, and Rosario Beach Marine Laboratory.
Prior to his appointment as vice president, Ramoutar served as an assistant professor of accounting and finance for WWU’s School of Business and held various finance roles at the University of the Southern Caribbean in Trinidad and Tobago.
“I am confident that God led me to Walla Walla University. My experience here has been shaped by collaboration with dedicated colleagues, thoughtful leadership, and a shared commitment to mission-driven work,” Ramoutar says. “I am grateful for the ways God allowed me to contribute alongside others in service to students and the broader community. I pray for God’s continued guidance and blessing over Walla Walla University, its leadership, and all those it serves in the years ahead.”
Located in Orlando, Fla., AdventHealth University is a member of the Association of Adventist Colleges and Universities, which comprises 13 colleges and universities in North America, including Walla Walla University. “I look forward to keeping Dr. Ramoutar as a colleague and collaborator in Adventist higher education in his new role with AdventHealth University,” Bryan says.
