Come ask the questions you’ll answer for others.
The School of Theology aims to develop future leaders equipped for a ministry of proclamation, worship, and nurturing within the Seventh-day Adventist Church. You will gain a thorough knowledge of biblical languages, Adventist heritage, and Christian faith and scripture, as well as the skills necessary to communicate your knowledge in order to foster others' faith. You will sharpen your skills through field experiences including working with the pastoral staff of local churches, hospital visitation, or being involved in regional evangelistic meetings.

Philosophy: Walla Walla University is “founded on Christian teachings and values as understood and appreciated by the Seventh-day Adventist church.” (WWU mission) The School of Theology is deeply committed to reflecting these values. WWU has a remarkable sense of community—located in a small town in the beautiful Pacific Northwest where the campus gathers together every weekend. All university students engage in biblically-based, faith-building religion classes at WWU. In the School of Theology, students often meet at faculty homes and plan many activities as a group. Theology majors are mentored by female and male faculty members during their academic journey. Christ-centered Adventist faith is vital for all teaching and pastoral preparation in the School of Theology. Professors are both biblical scholars and followers of Jesus, encouraging students’ minds and hearts toward God. During their education at WWU, students refine their personal calling for ministry and practice those skills in paid internships. Students are also engaged in discovery through the depth and breadth of academic study and educational travel opportunities. Student leadership is also strongly supported and demonstrated on campus, and individual spiritual gifts are nurtured. In the beautiful Walla Walla valley and surrounding areas, students explore and revel in the glory of God’s creation. Community, Faith, and Discovery are at the heart of Walla Walla University School of Theology.
