Students on the Portland campus have several options for engaging in mental health support:
- Synchronous Health* — This online behavioral health organization offers virtual therapy with a therapist who is licensed in Oregon. WWU-Portland students may access up to 10 free sessions a year with a Synchronous therapist. Synchronous also offers up to five free sessions with an online life coach. The coaching option is accessed through the Student Health and Wellness page. If you are wondering what service might fit your needs best, please read the section under coaching on the website for a list of concerns that coaching addresses.

- Lewis & Clark Community Counseling Center*— WWU partners with the CCC in Portland to be able to receive 10 free counseling sessions per year. It is important to note that you are a WWU student when reaching out to the Counseling Center for services.
- Associates for Psychiatric and Mental Health— This resource is an outstanding opportunity for nursing students who wish to have a medical evaluation for mental health support. Therapy and medication can received through trained and licensed professionals who offer both simultaneously. APMH offers a free consultation service for students to explore what is best for their care. Insurance will be billed for APMH services unless the student makes other arrangements with a provider. APMH offers virtual and in-person treatment options.
- Portland students are always welcome to book online through the WWU Counseling page for a virtual consultation with a mental health professional. Students on all WWU Campuses are able to access this resource up to three times a year. This is an opportunity to talk through available resources and options for engaging in mental health support.
*Students who access free counseling via Synchronous Health or the Community Counseling Center may receive up to 10 free sessions total in a year, including the life coaching opportunity.
