Make an appointment

We are here to help! We offer two ways to talk with a therapist.
Please note that right now, all our operations are online and you will meet with our staff virtually.

1. Consultation meeting
"virtual walk-in"

If you would like to talk with an on-campus mental health professional please schedule a consultation meeting. This is great option if you are feeling overwhelmed, stressed, need someone to talk with, and haven’t received services through the Counseling Center before. This is not a traditional counseling session but at your consultation meeting our staff can help you determine if a counseling appointment could be beneficial for you. Anyone can schedule a consultation meeting no matter where you are located—in the United States or internationally.

You can make an appointment for a consultation meeting during our "virtual walk-in" hours: Monday–Thursday, 11 a.m.–1 p.m.

2. Counseling appointment

If you are interested in establishing counseling, you've come to the right place! When you submit an application, you will be connected with a mental health professional who can help you navigate the process of getting set up with the services that you would benefit from. Because of licensing rules in different states, the process you will go through will be be based on the state in which you are currently living.

To schedule your first appointment with a therapist, fill out an application. You will be prompted to complete the application and two surveys.

We are excited to be partnering with Synchronous Healthcare through Adventist Health as a way of extending our services across the US.  When you submit your application, you will meet with a licensed mental health professional who will be available to help you work on achieving your goals.

[COMING SOON] Submit an application to be seen virtually by a mental health professional in your state.

Note that our WWU therapists are available for "virtual walk-in" consultation meetings Monday-Thursday, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. You may use consultation meeting option three times in a year without completing an application. Any student (no matter where they live) can take advantage of this option.

Returning clients: If you have previously worked with a therapist in the Counseling Center and you have questions or concerns about how to access therapy this quarter, please send your therapist an email! They will be able to help you figure out what your next steps are and how to get what you need from wherever you are located. Find contact information for Counseling Center staff.
