Dear Faculty and Staff of Walla Walla University:
This year United Way allocated over $284,435 to our valley through programs such our Adopt-a-Student program, the Collective Impact initiative on the local Education Pipeline, Emergency Health & Human Services, Adult Literacy, Domestic Violence, and Home Team/ Parent Aide, to name a few. These programs have a common theme; each address Health, Income, and Education, which we strongly believe impact quality of life and are a basic human right for every person.
Through our Collective Impact initiative and your support, we believe we can more efficiently support Health, Education and Financial Stability from cradle through career. Our first focus area this year is programming to support the critical transitions of middle school students.
YOU can help by joining the #GIVE5 initiative. TAKE 5 minutes to see the impact your “5” can make through United Way, GIVE $5 to your community, and TELL 5 friends.
The needs of students and families in our region are at an all-time high need for help. Over 60% of students now qualify for free or reduced lunches in our local schools. All students want to fit in, succeed and make a difference…but they need your help.
United Way of the Blue Mountains is thankful for the generous support of the staff and faculty at Walla Walla University and we believe that you share in the same values we have mentioned above. It is our request that you continue this tradition of giving and invite those that have not, to join us in participating in this year’s United Way campaign.
