A Message from the United Way of the Blue Mountains

We recognize that 2020 has not been a typical year. Historic flooding in February 2020 followed by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic exposed critical shortcomings in the Health, Education and Financial Stability of our friends, family, and co-workers. It’s been a year of intense struggle. As fall transitions to winter, that struggle is far from over for many in our community. Many hardworking families are one unexpected situation away from financial crisis. They may be forced to make tough choices such as deciding between quality childcare, buying groceries, heating their home, or paying rent. Over 500 individuals and families are STILL impacted by the floods, and United Way is working hard to help ease the struggle. This year, United Way of the Blue Mountains will focus on supporting projects, programs and partners through our Educational Attainment Alliance impact initiative, the Blue Mountain Region Long-Term Recovery Group, and Partner Support.

Employees will have another opportunity to enroll this spring for a one-time premium of $59 for membership between 7/01/21 - 6/30/22.

If you're signing up for the first time or have changes to make to your Life Flight membership, fill out the form and email it to Keri.Self@wallawalla.edu. A one-time premium of $29 will be deducted from your December 17 paycheck.

If you are re-enrolling and have no address or dependent changes, please add your name to this spreadsheet. By adding your name to this form, you are agreeing to a one-time premium of $29 to be deducted from your December 17 paycheck.

Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) for 2021 and beyond

Because we are transitioning benefit renewals to a fiscal plan year (July 1 to June 30), current FSA election amounts have been pro-rated to reflect a short plan period from Jan 1, 2021 to June 30, 2021. At the end of this period, participants will have a 90-day window to submit final claims with a date of service incurred during the plan period. Up to $550 is eligible to roll-over to the new plan period and will be available from July 1, 2021 to June 30, 2022. Participants will have another opportunity in the spring of 2021 to elect FSA amounts for the next fiscal plan year. Funds elected for the 2020-21 fiscal plan year will be available throughout the entire fiscal year.
