Preparing for Virtual Commencement

While graduation weekend festivities this year are not what we hoped they would be, Walla Walla University will honor and celebrate your achievements at a virtual commencement ceremony on Sunday, June 14, at 10 a.m.

You’ll find resources below to help you announce, prepare for, and participate in the virtual commencement celebration.

Invite friends and family to join you for virtual commencement! Below you will find templates for print and social media invitations. Use them as they are designed, or use a free online editor (such as Canva) to personalize them. Questions? Contact alix.harris@wallawalla.edu.

Send your photo after regalia arrives

We need a photo of you for the program, and we’re sending special regalia for you to wear in that photo! Once the regalia arrives, put it on and snap a photo to send. Questions? Contact deirdre.benwell@wallawalla.edu.

Things to think about when uploading your photo:

    • Make sure you take it in a well-lit area so we can see your face!
    • Wearing a graduation cap? Tassels go on the left.
    • This is your moment—keep the background free of distracting elements so you are the center of attention.
    • Choose a photo with a sharp focus.
    • Name your photo file before you upload: firstname_lastname_ID# (e.g. Wally_WolfJr_1271892).

    Example

This is similar to how the photo you supply will be used on commencement morning.
