The Great American Songbook

WWU voice students to present recital featuring works by Gershwin, Trenet, and others

On Sunday, March 1, at 7:30 p.m. in the Fine Arts Center Auditorium, Walla Walla University students will present a voice recital titled The Great American Songbook. The students will perform well-known works by Irving Berlin, George Gershwin, Cole Porter, and others. These songs, made famous by Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Nat King Cole, and Dean Martin, will be reimagined by voice students of Christine Janis, assistant professor of music, and Diane Gray-Chamberlain, adjunct voice instructor. Kraig Scott, professor of music, will accompany the group.
