The Festival of Shorts

wwudrama presents student-directed festival of plays and films

The Festival of Shorts will present four plays and seven films by 11 different student directors on March 5, 6, 10, 12, and 13, at 8 p.m. at Village Hall.

David Crawford, director of wwudrama and assistant professor of communications, says, “The goal is to create an exciting, beautiful, and entertaining festival while giving the student directors an opportunity to test their abilities in a real-world sense.”

The festival was originally known as The Festival of One Acts and has been presented for 55 years since wwudrama started performing in 1961. When the film category was added to the event two years ago, the name was changed to The Festival of Shorts.

At the event, the audience can vote for their favorite director. The winning director will receive an Audience Favorite award. All productions are also evaluated by an outside evaluator who gives feedback to each. This year, Jeremy Reed, the technical facility manager for wwudrama will be the guest director.

Village Hall is located at 204 S. College Ave., in College Place, Wash.

Visit the wwudrama website at drama.wallawalla.edu to purchase tickets. Tickets for the show on Thursday, March 10, are half price.
