Spring Choral Concert

Student choral ensembles to perform

Walla Walla University choral ensembles will present a spring choral concert on Saturday, May 21, at 5 p.m. in the Walla Walla University Church.

The ensembles, directed by Kraig Scott, professor of music, will perform a variety of pieces in keeping with the season of spring.

Since assuming direction of the University choral ensembles in 2009, Scott and the small WWU choir, I Cantori of Walla Walla University, have toured throughout the Northwest and to San Francisco, Honolulu, and southern California. As a guest conductor Scott’s appearances include leading the festival chorus of Central Lutheran Church (Eugene, Oregon) and conducting the 500-voice choir of the Seventh-day Adventist International Choral Congress in Bucha, Ukraine. In addition to his work at WWU he serves as adjunct instructor at Whitman College.

Scott holds an associate degree from the Royal Conservatory of Toronto and a bachelor’s degree from Walla Walla University. His advanced degrees include a master of music degree from the University of Oregon, a master’s degree and doctor of musical arts degree from the Eastman School of Music, and post graduate choral conducting training at Michigan State University.

The University Church is located at 212 SW Fourth St., in College Place. This event is free and open to the public. Watch live stream of the concert at wallawalla.edu/concert.
