Semple named CCC Offensive Player of the Week

Emmett Semple, junior business administration major, was named Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) Red Lion Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 16-22. He is the first Wolves men’s soccer player to receive this honor. Semple scored three goals over two matches in the opening weekend of CCC play, leading the Wolves to a 1-1 record.

Semple helped guide the Wolves to their first shutout since the team became a full member of the CCC, beating Multnomah University 2-0 Sunday afternoon. In addition, Semple scored two goals in a 3-2 loss against Warner Pacific University on Friday to give him three goals for the season. This two-game stretch is Semple’s best scoring performance and ties his goal total from both his 2017 and 2018 seasons combined.

“I am very happy and proud of Emmett,” said William Burns, WWU head soccer coach. “He brings it in practice and the hard work has paid off. Go Wolves!”
