Doug Tilstra

Vice President for Student Life

As vice president for Student Life, Doug oversees the department and offices of Athletics, Residential Life & Housing, Campus Ministries, Dean of Students, and Campus Security. Doug, who came to Walla Walla in 2017, previously held the position of director of outdoor education and leadership at Southern Adventist University. Hilary Catlett

Assistant Vice President for Student Life / Dean of Students

As AVP/Dean of Students, Hilary oversees the offices of Counseling and Testing Center, the health clinic, and serves as ASWWU Sponsor.  She is also responsible for oversight of the Student Code of Conduct and CommUnity attendance. Hilary, who came to Walla Walla in 2014, previously worked as a social worker in various capacities and as a contract professor for WWU's Social Work and Sociology department. Kristen Taylor

Director of Residential Life and Housing

As director of Residential Life and Housing, Kristen oversees four residential halls (Conard, Foreman, Meske, and Sittner), Village Housing, and the Homebase program. Kristen, who graduated from WWU in 2005 and served in residential life at Southern Adventist University and Indiana Academy, has served in WWU's resident halls since 2011/ Kristen can be reached by emailing or by calling (509) 527-2539. Courtney Bryant

Campus Security Director

As Campus Security director, Courtney oversees security, emergency preparedness, and safety on the College Place campus. Courtney, who came to Walla Walla in 2014 previously served at the Riverside County Probation Department working with troubled youth. Courtney can be reached by emailing or by calling (509) 527-2222.

Eric Cantrell

Athletics Director

Annette Riebe

Dean of Residence and Student Life (Portland Campus)

As dean of Residence and Student Life, Annette oversees students' residential experience at WWU's Portland campus for the School of Nursing. Annette, a graduate of WWU, previously worked as associate dean of women at Pacific Union College. Michelle Naden

Director of Counseling and Testing Center

Michelle has over 20 years of experience as a faculty member at Loma Linda University and Seattle Pacific University, where she directed graduate clinical training programs. She is a licensed family therapist and has practiced in several private practice settings within multi-disciplinary teams of providers. Michelle graduated from Loma Linda University with a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and she earned her PhD in Sociology at the University of Southern California, with a special emphasis in Family Therapy. Sheila Meharry

Administrative Assistant

As administrative assistant to the vice president of Student Life, Sheila manages the office and provides faculty, staff, and student support. Sheila, a Walla Walla Valley native, has worked at WWU for over 23 years, first in the WWU Library before joining the office of Student Life in 2004. Sheila can be reached by emailing or by calling (509) 527-2511.
