As a small group leader, there are a few things that you need to be aware of.
Do not coordinate transportation. If you need your group to get to a certain location, have them find their own rides. Reason being: Walla Walla University can’t be liable for accidents that occur; it’s much more simple to just meet your group there.
If any risk is involved in your group, waivers will need to be filled out. Example: “Football Fellowship”.
Refer dire situations to Brittni or other experienced Mental Health Professionals. Examples include, thoughts of Suicide or loss of a family member and they don’t know how to deal with it. Besides dire situations, if you feel like you lack the experience, knowledge, and words that could further help an individual, don’t be afraid to refer them to trained professionals. Be a friend and look out for the people in your group, but know your limitations.
