We exist to develop trusting relationships that will enable Muslim refugees to integrate into our communities in a way that will honor God and our society.
Based in the outdoor oasis of Chattanooga, Tennessee, this ministry is all about building friendships in a Muslim refugee community, and helping them feel more at home in practical ways here in the U.S. This SM may not need a passport, but they will be stepping into a whole new world of Muslim culture from Iraq, Syria, and Sudan which requires the same cultural sensitivity and adaptation. SMs will be trained and mentored regularly, and will also be working with local volunteers from Southern Adventist University and local Adventist churches. This is a new SM position, but the ministry is well established with long-term relationships within the Muslim refugee community and a volunteer base.
