Community Action

What is Community Action?

Community Action is students and community coming together to make an impact. Twice a year an entire day is dedicated to being engaged in Community Action. This is a school wide event that occurs twice a year, where students and faculty participate in service projects for local organizations and private residents. There is also a Service Day in the spring which is a threefold event that includes Whitman College and Walla Walla Community College.

Mission Statement:

The purpose of service day is to inspire each other to learn and grow through generosity in service. This is accomplished by building relationships with community partners and bringing awareness to the university family about the diverse needs in the Walla Walla Valley. We desire to engage all students, faculty, and staff in service. By connecting with Christ through service there will ignite a passion to continue their involvement in working together in service.

Attendance:

Community service is an important part of  the Walla Walla University experience. On specific days classes are excused with the expectation that students are participating in one of the various projects.
