Transfer to WWU and get some extra financial help!
If your plans to attend Walla Walla University were derailed this year, here’s some really good news.
Transfer students—like you!—starting class in fall 2021 may be eligible for the following additional scholarships based upon your cumulative college OR high school GPA:
Transfer + COVID Scholarship*
- $12,000 for 3.75–4.00 GPA
($6,000 Transfer Scholarship + $6,000 COVID Scholarship)
- $10,000 for 3.50–3.74 GPA
($5,500 Transfer Scholarship + $4,500 COVID Scholarship)
- $9,000 for 3.25–3.49 GPA
($5,000 Transfer Scholarship + $4,000 COVID Scholarship)
- $8,000 for 3.00–3.24 GPA
($4,500 Transfer Scholarship + $3,500 COVID Scholarship)
This scholarship renews every year you attend WWU (up to 12 quarters or upon receipt of your bachelor’s degree) if you maintain a 3.0 cumulative college GPA. Your $12,000 merit award could be $48,000 over your four years at WWU!
Do you live outside of Washington or Oregon? If so, you would also receive an Out-of-Area Grant of $2,500 each year you are enrolled at WWU for up to four years.
It’s easy to apply and lock in your scholarships!

*Awarding criteria for Transfer + COVID Scholarship
Transfer students who start during any other quarter than fall 2021 are not eligible for these scholarship amounts.
Students with 12 or more accepted college transfer credits earned after high school graduation will be awarded a Transfer + COVID Scholarship based on their cumulative college GPA.
Students with 1-11 accepted college transfer credits earned after high school graduation will be awarded a Transfer + COVID Scholarship based upon their unweighted cumulative high school GPA.
Does not apply toward tuition for summer school.
Disbursed 1/3 each quarter.
Prorated if registered for less than 12 hours; not valid for less than six credit hours.
Recipients must maintain a 3.0 cumulative college GPA at WWU to renew their Transfer + COVID Scholarship.
Transfer students are eligible for a maximum of four years of the Transfer + COVID Scholarship or until they have met the maximum number of credits attempted allowed by the Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy or until they have completed their undergraduate degree.
Transfer students are not eligible for the National Merit Scholarship.
For the purposes of scholarship eligibility, students can attend another accredited institution during the summer to increase their cumulative GPA and have their scholarship reinstated.
Students who attend WWU, transfer to another school (except for summer), and then return to WWU are not considered transfer students and are not eligible for the Transfer + COVID Scholarship. However, they are eligible to have their Freshman Scholarship reinstated if they return for fall 2021 and meet all other scholarship requirements.
