In this video I show how to retrieve a permalink to an entire ebook and to a chapter or page within an ebook. This is useful for linking students from a D2L course to a ebook or chapter that you would like them to read or reference.
We can add links to online books into D2L. This works by either searching for online books or navigating the online book platform based on subject. Below I have used the subjects on the right to link into the online books database. I select the 2020 filter on the left.
Next I click on a book title, this one Emerging Technologies for Nurses looks good.
Once this book title is open I can click on the Share Link to Book on the left side.
This opens a pop up box that allows a permanent link to be copy and then pasted into D2L or shared through email.
We can also link directly to a chapter or page. Here I open the chapter on Virtual Reality...
At the top right, we can click on the little chain link icon for the link.
This pop up box contains the link that can be copy and pasted for being shared through email or posted on D2L.
