Can I use library computers?

Academic computer access is available from the terminals in the lobby. These computers allow searching of Research Central (the library catalog), the online databases, and some internet websites. Document editing software, as well as some popular sites including email, social networking, and web commerce sites may not be available.

Sign-in at the Library Information may be required and time limited to 30 minutes per day. Printing from these computers is $.10 per page and can be paid with cash at the Library Information Desk.

The Orbis Cascade Alliance does not allow access to alumni or community members. However, emeriti are eligible to request books through the Orbis Cascade Alliance Summit Borrowing system.

Interlibrary Loan (ILL) services are available to alumni and community card holders for a per-request service fee. Emeriti may use ILL without a service fee, however, we do reserve the right to charge a fee for ILL requests. Contact the Resource Sharing Specialist for more details at (509) 527-2673 or ill@wallawalla.edu.

Are there daily fines for overdue materials?

Peterson Memorial Library does not currently charge daily fines for items from our circulating collection. However, materials should be returned in a timely manner, as once the library computer system considers the material LOST, replacement charges and non-refundable processing fees ($15/item) are automatically added to the borrower's library account. Fees may be paid by either cash or check at the Library Information Desk. Borrowing privileges will be suspended for any account with an outstanding balance over $5.00.
