The Chemistry Department serves the students of WWU by offering degrees in chemistry and biochemistry, and by teaching cognate courses to support a variety of other majors and pre-professional programs on campus. The department does its best to provide students with up-to-date courses and laboratory experience that will prepare them for graduate-level study, professional school (e.g. medicine, dentistry, law), or careers in chemistry, biochemistry, and related fields.
The chemistry faculty are committed to maintaining a high degree of competence in their specialties and also to helping students develop the ability to think critically, independently, and creatively. They try to foster a learning environment of mutual support and cooperation in the context of a Christian worldview.
If you need additional information or assistance, please feel free to contact the chairman of the department, Dr. Steve Lee, or any of the department faculty.
